Rain Alert for 19 Districts in Madhya Pradesh Today, Heatwave in Three; Scorching Heat Continues Elsewhere

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for 19 districts in Madhya Pradesh today, while three districts remain under heatwave warnings.

Rain, Thunderstorms Expected in Several Districts

As per the latest forecast, Gwalior, Jabalpur, and 17 other districts across Madhya Pradesh are likely to experience rain and thunderstorms today.
Cities such as Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain are expected to see cloudy skies, while other regions will continue to face intense heat.

Districts under rain alert include:

• Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Sheopur, Ashoknagar, Vidisha, Sagar, Narmadapuram, Betul, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Jabalpur, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Dindori, and Anuppur.

Mild rain and thunderstorm activity are expected to continue over the next four days, although heatwaves may still impact isolated areas.

Heatwave Conditions in Select Districts

Despite rain forecasts, Ratlam, Khandwa, and Burhanpur are under a heatwave warning today.
These regions could experience extreme temperatures and dry conditions, requiring caution for residents.

Temperature Highlights Across Madhya Pradesh

On Friday, the state recorded severe heat conditions:

• Khajuraho (Chhatarpur) emerged as the hottest location at 44.6°C.

• Shivpuri recorded 44°C, and Damoh saw temperatures climb to 43.5°C.

• Eleven cities, including Gwalior, Naugaon, Satna, Tikamgarh, Ratlam, Guna, Mandla, and Narsinghpur, reported temperatures above 43°C.

Other major temperature readings:

• Rewa, Shajapur, Umaria, Malajkhand, Sagar, Narmadapuram, and Khandwa saw temperatures over 42°C.

• Cities like Sidhi, Khargone, Dhar, Chhindwara, Seoni, Raisen, and Betul stayed above 40°C.

Among major cities:

• Bhopal: 41.2°C

• Indore: 40°C

• Ujjain: 41.1°C

• Jabalpur: 41.5°C

Meanwhile, Pachmarhi, the only hill station in the state, remained the coolest spot at 36.2°C.

Outlook

While the forecasted showers may bring temporary relief from the searing temperatures in parts of Madhya Pradesh, intense heat and isolated heatwave conditions are expected to persist across several districts.
