Panaji: For better handling of cases related to illegal stay and visa violations, Goa police on Thursday held a training programme for its personnel on immigration and visa regulations. It was in collaboration with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) Mumbai.
The two-day special training programme was designed to empower Goa police officials with a deeper understanding of immigration laws, visa regulations, and best practices for monitoring and managing cases related to illegal stays and visa violations. Director general of police (DGP) Alok Kumar inaugurated the programme.
A senior officer said that the programme also aimed at improving coordination between local police and FRRO/immigration authorities.
The training served as a significant step in fortifying Goa police’s capabilities in addressing immigration-related challenges and improving coordination with national immigration authorities, said SP Rahul Gupta.
