HAZARIBAGH: PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday gave a call to save the 'roti, beti & maati' in Jharkhand , accusing the Hemant Soren govt in Jharkhand of engaging in dangerous 'vote bank' politics by patronising infiltrators at the cost of the state's identity and culture.
Addressing a public meeting here at the conclusion of BJP 's parivartan yatra, Modi cautioned that the population of Hindus and tribals was declining. Appealing for a change of regime in the state, he said it was high time to "throw out forces" encouraging infiltrators to protect the identity of Jharkhand.
"Santhal Pargana is a living proof where demography change due to infiltration is leading to a dip in tribal population. JMM-Congress-RJD govt is responsible for this shift as they are trying to change the soul of Jharkhand," he said. "BJP's parivartan yatra is not about coming to power, but to save roti, beti and maati in Jharkhand, which is dear to me and my party," the PM said, emphasising that protecting tribal rights would be of paramount interest "in the new dawn".
Modi appealed to people to be cautious about the JMM-led govt's attempts to churn out 'jalebis of lies'. Every day, the alliance govt here is serving the state new 'jalebis' of lies. JMM govt should give old accounts before serving such jalebis," he added, indirectly hitting out at state govt's claim of its pending mining royalty dues to the tune of Rs 1.36 lakh cr at the Centre.
Lashing out at the Hemant Soren govt for 'cheating' the tribal society and halting state's progress for 'personal gains', Modi cited central agencies' investigations into mining and land scams and recovery of cash from members of the governing coalition.
Reminding the audience on the regime's 'failed' promises, Modi raked up the deaths of aspirants during the excise constable recruitment exams. "The state govt had promised to give unemployment allowance, jobs to the youth in the name of recruitment, but what did they get? On the contrary, youths died in the name of jobs and paper leaks are happening in exams. Govt had promised to give Rs 2,000 chulha allowance to women every month, promised pension to widowed women every month, gold coins to girls during marriage, but were any of these promises fulfilled?"
Earlier in the day, Modi launched schemes worth over Rs 80,000 crore across the country. Some of the schemes included Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan to develop 63,000 tribal-dominated villages in about 550 districts in the country; inauguration of 40 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS); and foundation stones for 25 more schools among others.
