Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has directed BJP MLAs to inspect their constituencies on Sept 5, 6 and 7, and ministers in-charge and secretaries to conduct two-day tours, to assess flood situation and resolve people's issues.
With Rajasthan receiving over 56% more rainfall than average this monsoon season, Sharma underscored the need for legislators to coordinate with district administration to expedite relief and rescue operations.
He said the state govt is committed to offering permanent solutions to recurring problems caused by rain and floods. "Long-term plans will be developed," he said.
Asserting the need to arrange safe temporary shelters for women, children, the elderly, and disabled individuals in flood-affected areas. "Additionally, they should monitor control rooms and helplines and ensure adequate deployment of NDRF, SDRF, and volunteers," he added.
Sharma also advised MLAs to share information about relief efforts and helpline numbers on social media and instructed officials to deploy medical teams in relief camps and affected areas to vaccinate animals, chlorinate drinking water sources, and monitor cleanliness and hygiene in relief camps.
