Indian Idol 12 winner Pawandeep Rajan's team issues a statement updating about his surgeries; writes 'Post 3-4 days rest he will again be operated for the rest of the fractures and injuries'

Pawandeep Rajan, the winner of Indian Idol 12, made headlines following his terrible tragedy. According to reports, the musician received several severe injuries after his car collided with another vehicle on May 5 in the early morning. Following this, Pawandeep (28) was transported to the hospital. Now, the singer's team has issued their first formal statement, providing an update on the singer's health. According to the statement, Rajan underwent surgery for fractures acquired as a result of the injury.

Pawandeep's team has taken to his Instagram handle to pen the statement about the singer's accident and also shared an update about his surgery. The team penned, "Hi everyone, as you all are aware that Pawandeep Rajan met with a tragic road accident on 5th May early morning near Moradabad, UP while he was on his way to Delhi to catch a flight to Ahmedabad for an event. Initially, he was operated at a nearby available facility but later he was shifted to a better hospital in Delhi NCR. He has suffered with multiple major fractures and few small injuries."

It further read, "Yesterday was a very difficult and hard day for the family and all his well-wishers. The whole day he was struggling with severe pain and unconsciousness. However, after a whole lot of diagnosis and examinations, he was taken into the operation theatre around 7 pm and after 6 hours some of his major fractures have been operated on successfully and he is currently in Medical ICU under observation. Post 3-4 days rest he will again be operated for the rest of the fractures and injuries."

For the unversed, Pawandeep was travelling from his hometown to Noida for an event with his friend Ajay Mehra and driver Rahul Singh. The three were travelling in an MG Hector. According to the investigation, Rahul Singh, the driver, reportedly slept while driving the vehicle, causing him to lose control of it. Because of this, Pawandeep's car collided with the rear of an Eicher Canter lorry, resulting in this fatal accident.
