Tezpur University admissions 2025: Tezpur University, a central university located in Assam, has announced the launch of eight innovative academic programmes from the academic year 2025–26. This move is in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which advocates for multidisciplinary education and enhanced industry readiness among graduates.
Among the newly launched courses, the dual degree B.Tech.–MBA stands out as the first of its kind in Northeast India. This integrated programme is designed to bridge the gap between technical education and managerial expertise, offering students a unique opportunity to earn both degrees through a single academic path.
Expanding academic horizons with eight new offerings
The university’s new programmes reflect a strong commitment to emerging academic fields and national development priorities. In addition to the B.Tech.–MBA dual degree , Tezpur University has introduced the following programmes:
• BA in Linguistics and Language Technology
• BA in Sociology
• MA in Translation Studies
• M.Tech. in Solar Energy Engineering
• M.Tech. in Manufacturing Technology and Automation
• Executive Development Programme in Renewable Energy and Energy Management
• Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Markets
These offerings aim to strengthen the university’s existing portfolio across its Schools of Sciences, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management, and Multidisciplinary Studies.
Admission and application process
The admission portal for the 2025–26 academic session is now live. Tezpur University will accept applications through multiple national-level and institutional entrance examinations. These include the Tezpur University Entrance Examination (TUEE), Graduate Aptitude Test – Biotechnology (GAT-B), Common University Entrance Test – Undergraduate and Postgraduate (CUET-UG & PG-2025), Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE-Mains), Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED), UG–National Institute of Design (NID) Design Aptitude Test (DAT), and the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED).
The last date for online application submission is May 10, 2025. The TUEE is scheduled for the second week of June 2025, with specific dates to be announced soon.
Promoting inclusive education
In a step towards supporting economically disadvantaged students, Tezpur University has adopted a free studentship policy. Under this, students from the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category will be eligible for a full waiver of tuition fees, subject to fulfilment of specific criteria.
