Raipur: An immediate financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh was provided to the family of the child, Divyansh, who died in a recent accident at Gulmohar Park PMAY Colony in Zone-7 of Raipur, following the instructions of CM Sai.
Raipur district administration and Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC), along with doctors from the health department, are monitoring the condition of two other children injured in the same incident and receiving hospital treatment, a govt spokesperson said. The health of both children is improving, and medical professionals are closely observing their recovery.
The three children, including Divyansh, 7, began to drown after entering the soak pit. Local residents rescued them and rushed them to the hospital. Divyansh died during treatment, while the other two children, Priyanshu Sen, 6, and Anshu Sen, 5, are receiving treatment and are reportedly in stable condition.
Raipur municipal commissioner Vishwadeep issued show-cause notices to the Zone 7 Commissioner, Executive Engineer, assistant engineer, sub engineer, and the contractor for the PMAY project, M/s Madhusudan Agrawal, seeking an explanation. The commissioner directed all officials across municipal zones to ensure that waterworks pits are filled immediately after work, safety barricades are installed, and red flags are placed around the sites. He warned of unilateral disciplinary action for non-compliance.
