UP CM to unveil Rs 1,500cr devpt plans

Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will gift Gorakhpur a Rs 1,500 crore development boost on Saturday, inaugurating and laying foundation stones for 147 projects at a mega event in Manbela. Of these, 52 projects worth Rs 438.38 crore will be inaugurated, while foundation stone will be laid for 95 new projects worth Rs 1,060.98 crore.

Key initiatives include major upgrades in road connectivity, with widening and strengthening of several arterial roads including the Ramgarh Tal four-lane project (Rs 67.35 crore) and Kaudiram–Gajpur road (Rs 30.53 crore). A Rs 223.86 crore sewerage project under the AMRUT scheme will also be inaugurated.

The health sector will see a major push with a new 50-bed hospital in Bansgaon (Rs 13.9 crore), expansion of the district hospital (Rs 21.96 crore), and the BRD Medical College trauma center being upgraded to Level 1 (Rs 38.01 crore).

Other highlights include a Rs 304.39 crore collectorate building, a Rs 132.61 crore rail overbridge at Rahmat Nagar, and a Rs 71.69 crore bridge over the Rapti River. A mini stadium in Sahjanwa and a Bhajan Sandhya Sthal in the city are also part of the announcement.

These projects span multiple departments including PWD, UP Jal Nigam, UPRNN, UPSIDC and rural engineering department, positioning Gorakhpur for a significant leap in infrastructure, healthcare and urban development.
