Arunachal cops nab four drug peddlers, seize over 113g heroin

Itanagar: In two separate operations on Wednesday, four drug peddlers were arrested, while 113.22g of heroin was seized, police said.

Based on intelligence inputs, police had set up a naka at Banderdewa check gate, said Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo.

Intercepting one Dongja Kabak (39), who was riding a scooter, the cops conducted a search in the presence of an executive magistrate and independent witnesses, leading to the recovery of 30 vials (39.69 grams) of heroin, Gambo said.

The second such operation took place at a hotel, near the police training centre, at Banderdewa, the SP said.

Following a raid, three individuals, identified as Vikash Doley (26), Biswa Morang (28) and the hotel owner Makan Doley (50) were arrested. 55 vials (73.55 grams) of heroin, along with Rs 14,060 cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug sales, were recovered from the hotel premises, Gambo added.

The operations were conducted by a team led by Banderdewa officer-in-charge Kipa Hamak, sub-inspectors SK Singh, Koj Tada, N Bagang and LP Mema and assistant sub-inspectors A Rajbhar, T Kipa and SK Jha, along with personnel from the 138th battalion of the CRPF.
