He was rushed to Sassoon General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival," Patankar said.

The police took Shaikh's blood sample at the hospital to ascertain if he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

"The blood sample test report is awaited. Shaikh was subjected to a breath analyser test, but its report was negative,"the officersaid.

"Kiswe is the son of a casual worker. We have impounded the car for RTO inspection," Patankar added.
