Cristiano Ronaldo ditched his trademark 'SIUU' celebration and came up with a special gesture for his son after netting a penalty in Al-Nassr's 3-0 win over Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League. After sitting out of Al-Nassr's previous game owing to a flu, CR7 helped his club return to winning ways by converting a spot-kick in the first half. Salem Al-Najdi and Anderson Talisca also scored for the Riyadh-based club as they helped new coach Stefano Pioli begin his stint with a victory. Ronaldo came up with a new celebration after scoring against Al-Ettifaq as he held up three fingers while pointing towards his son. The celebration may have left many fans confused but ESPN revealed the real reason behind the gesture. Earlier in the day, Cristiano's son, Cristiano Jr. had scored a brace for Al-Nassr's youth team, and that's why he pointed toward his child with three fingers, showing that they made it a hat-trick of goals together in a day. The latest strike was Cristiano Ronaldo's 7th goal for his club and country since the beginning of the 2024-25 season as the 39-year-old has been in red-hot form. He has also bagged two assists although Al-Nassr are fourth in the Saudi Pro League standings after a slow start which saw Luis Castro being sacked. Former AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli was appointed the team's new coach and the Italian coach began his tenure. He will be expected to help Al-Nassr fight for the league title after the club finished in second place in the past two seasons.

CR7 also shared a message for the fans saying that he was happy with the team's effort and dedicated the victory to the Al-Nassr fans. "Great team effort! Big win tonight—this one’s for the fans!" Ronaldo wrote on X.

Ronaldo and Al-Nassr will be in action next on 23 September, Monday as they face Al-Hazm in the King Cup of Champions Round of 32 fixture. In a busy period for the team, the Riyadh-based side will be playing three fixtures in the upcoming ten days, they will play Al-Wehda on Friday before hosting Al Rayyan in the AFC Champions League matchday 2 fixture.
