Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have bailed India out of danger with a brilliant 195 runs partnership. Ashwin scored his 6th Test century while Jadeja came up with his 20th half century in Test cricket. The Indian top order failed to read the Bangladesh fast bowlers as the hosts were collapsed to 144/6. But Jadeja and Ashwin had some other plans as they navigated their way very cautiously and changed the scene completely. • After Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane's 222 run stand in Hyderabad in 2016/17, this 195 runs partnership also becomes the second best partnership against Bangladesh at home for any wicket.
• R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja also now is the fifth Indian pair to register two century stands for 7th wicket or its below. The list consists of some big names such as Ravi Shastri and Syed Kirmani, Roger Binny and Madan Lal, and MS Dhoni and VVS Laxman.
• This is also India's highest 7th wicket partnership at the Chepauk in Chennai. Jadeja was involved in the previous best one too when he and Karun Nair stitched a 138 runs partnership against England in 2016-17.
• Ashwin now also has the joint most hundreds while batting at the number eight position. Ashwin also has the most five wicket hauls among players who have scored six Test centuries.
• All rounders those have minimum 20 fifty plus scores, Jadeja is fifth when it comes to five wicket hauls in Tests.
