A Strictly Come Dancing couple have made a huge relationship admission after hitting "rock bottom".
Molly Rainford and Tyler West, who sparked romance after crossing paths on the 2022 series of Strictly, have disclosed that their relationship faced its ultimate test during their most recent television venture.
The EastEnders star and Kiss FM host are accustomed to sharing the limelight together. However, whilst filming Celebrity Race Across the World, their relaxed dynamic was stretched to its absolute limit.
Whilst the programme saw them travelling through stunning coastlines and lush tropical jungles, it wasn't entirely idyllic. For Molly, one mortifying moment nearly transformed their adventure into a relationship crisis.
"It was one of those times where you think, 'Please, not now, not here.' Everything had been going so well, but suddenly I hit rock bottom," the star recalled, reports the Mirror.
"I had a particularly low moment but I won't describe it - it's gross," Molly went on to admit.
"Let's say it was stomach related! I turned to Tyler and said, 'You can't leave me now, because if you did, I don't think anybody will love me ever again!'"
Tyler added: "We'd already heard from friends, who said, 'I couldn't do that kind of show with my partner.' So yes, we were nervous we might argue. But in the end, it just brought us even closer together."
And closer they undoubtedly are - following three years as a couple, they're not only sharing a home, but have recently become engaged as well.
Taking part in the popular BBC programme meant trading glamorous red carpet events for public transport, budget accommodation and lengthy journeys through tropical forests.
"We never did a gap year. We've both worked since we were young, so this was like a fast-track version of that - a chance to see the world in a completely different way," Molly explained.
Tyler added: "Normally, when you go on holiday, you stay in a resort and switch off. You'd never pick a tiny town in the middle of Mexico, but that's what makes Race Across the World so special. It opens your eyes."
Their fellow competitors include television presenter Anita Rani with her dad Bal, siblings Roman and Harley Moon Kemp, and Hollyoaks actor Dylan Llewellyn and his mum Jackie.
Reflecting on their travels, Tyler concluded: "We started this journey together, and we finished it even more in love. Nothing was going to make me walk away - not even that!"
The forthcoming series was shot in Central America, beginning on the idyllic Caribbean island of Isla Mujeres in Mexico, and concluding at the remote and breath-taking Guajira Peninsula in Colombia - the gateway to South America.
Celebrity Race Across the World returns to the BBC later this year, while Strictly Come Dancing is available to stream on BBC iPlayer
