Nadal announced his news on Friday, 11 October. He will be competing in the lucrative Six Kings Slam tournament in Saudi Arabia, which will see himself, Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Daniil Medvedev and Holger Rune compete for a £4.6million prize.

His final tennis match could be on November 19, when Spain face the Netherlands in the quarter-final of the Davis Cup. Victory over the Dutch will see him progress to the semi-final three days later, where they will have a chance to book a place in the final on Sunday, November 24.
