Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be trying to "build bridges" with the Firm, according to royal experts.
Royal commentators told the Sun that the paperback of Spare could be evidence of the California couple's desire to rekindle their relationship with the Firm.
The edition of the tell-all memoir released sensationally by Prince Harry in 2023 has come out in paperback but includes no new details about the Royal Family.
Royal pundit Phil Dampier told the Sun: "The paperback version of Spare has come out hasn't it during this last couple of weeks. Normally you would have added in a couple of sensational headline-grabbing stories [into the] paperback version of a book.
The analyst said if the duke wanted to maximise sales of the paperback, he would have done more to promote it. "He would have done more um TV work and more promotional work", Mr Dampier said.
The expert added that the fact that Prince Harry has not sold the paperback version hard, is indicative of his desire to get back to Royal life.
"[He] didn't do that this time, so you know again that's an indication that they are reining back off it and he's probably realised that he's not going to build any bridges unless he sort of cools it down a bit."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the royal fold in January 2020, moving to Montecito, California.
After moving to the US, the pair sparked outrage by making a series of accusations in media interviews and in their own work.
As well as Prince Harry's memoir Spare, the couple did a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, in which they accused a member of the Royal Family of racism.
