After a three-year hiatus, an animated series widely hailed as one of the greatest ever has made its triumphant return to Netflix.
The first nine episodes premiered in 2021, captivating a massive audience and garnering glowing reviews.
Adapted from one of the most beloved video games in history, this animated fantasy epic is lauded for its exceptional worldbuilding, artistic style, and stellar voice cast.
Yet, due to the intricate animation, fans were left hanging for three years as immense care was poured into the sequel's production.
The show in question is Arcane, and subscribers are ecstatic to see characters Vi (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx (Ella Purnell) back on their screens, reports .
Despite its roots in the online game League of Legends, the series has drawn in scores of non-gamers and stands out as one of Netflix's finest offerings, boasting a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.
"Arcane is perfect. It's like damn you really just out here with some of the best storytelling in recent memory on top of the best looking animation I have ever seen," exclaimed a fan on X (formerly Twitter).
"Season 2 so far has skyrocketed it to one of my favorite pieces of media of all time. Can't wait for the rest."
Sara Clements of Nerdspin praised the show, saying: "ARCANE is one of the best shows streaming right now and one of the best animated works of all time.
"The second season's high-octane story reveals an even deeper emotional core and builds on everything so admired about season one."
Another enthusiast gushed about its comeback: "Arcane still is peak, the character work, directing, aesthetics, the political framings, the way the conflict unfolds with constant subversion and reconstruction of extremes that alternate in a miraculously natural flow, it's all as on point as ever, we're sooo back."
Additionally, one fan raved: "Finished watching Arcane and hoo boy, this s*** might be the best animated series of ALL TIME. No kidding. It was worth the wait. I can't wait for the next episodes."
Numerous fans have hailed Arcane as "the best animated show of all time", while a cadre of subscribers admitted on Reddit that it's the sole reason they've kept their Netflix membership active.
A user confessed: "This show is pretty much the only reason I still have a subscription, and I'll be cancelling again in December," adding, "I don't think I'm the only one, either. Netflix owes a lot to Arcane."
"I'm the same. I despise Netflix and will make sure to cancel my membership as soon as I've rewatched Arcane 462747728 times this month," chimed in another.
Also, a third commenter revealed: "I got Netflix again just to watch Arcane and will be cancelling it again after the season is done."
Arcane season 2, part 2 will be released Saturday, November 16 on Netflix.
