Good Morning Britain was quickly brought to a halt for a breaking news announcement, as presenter Ranvir Singh had the latest. It was "bad news" - and a brutal double blow - to Chancellor Rachel Reeves as unemployment figures have risen, with wage growth in the private sector slowing down simultaneously - leaving fans fuming.
Ranvir explained: "Breaking news now, some bad news for the Chancellor Rachel Reeves and working people, because official figures just released by the Office for National Statistics show that the number of people in work fell by 93,000 in the year up to the August just gone. That was an unexpected slight rise in the unemployment rate to 4.8%."
She went on: "Now the ONS Director of Economic Statistics, Liz McKeown, says that there is also some bad news in terms of how much people are actually being paid, with wage growth slowing down in the private sector to its lowest rate in nearly four years.
"But there was some good news for people working in the public sector, who saw wage growth increase for them thanks to bigger pay rises handed out by the government."

Fuming fans reacted to the announcement on X, with one tweeting: "NOT unexpected at all!" while another echoed: "Well done Labour. Another fail."
"Lots of small businesses are closing, particularly pubs that struggle with high energy costs and a lack of customers that are also struggling with a cost of living crisis," someone else chimed in.
A fourth social media user added: "Surprise, surprise said no-one except this useless government!"
