presenter returned to screens with a fresh debate about the small boats crisis. She was joined by former presenter Danny Kelly and political commentator Alex Cairns, who clashed over the topic. The pair disagreed on how much the British public truly cares about the crisis following the recent anti-immigration protest in Dover.
As Danny stated: "I know so many people who are voters, I know so many people who are now Reform voters, they were Tory, and everybody is so angry. I think it's cross-party." However, Alex hit back: "I know that we talk about this issue like it s the number one trending issue in the United Kingdom and I just don't agree. After Nana chimed: "It is," Alex continued: "I think the fundamental things that most the British public are worried about their pay packet at the end of the month, they're worried about their water bill going up ... they're not thinking about the dinghys.
"Because the media love talking about it, that's why this whole culture has blown up." Danny fired back: "You can think about a number of things at the same time. You can think about your energy bills and be angry."
This prompted Alex to ask: "So you're telling me it's the number one thing in the UK?"
"For a lot of people it's the number one thing, I'm not saying exclusively. All I'm saying is that you can still be frustrated with your energy bills and you can still be angry about lads coming over on a dinghy," the former presenter responded.
But the commentator disagreed: "So you think the majority of the country are concerned about that?"
Danny said: "I've not said the majority, I said loads," to which Alex asked: "What, so even 20%?"
"Ok, so you've pinned me down. I'd say a good 35% of the country are really angry about these dinghies coming over," Danny suggested, while Nana quipped: "More."
Alex argued: "That's not true at all," as the guest admitted: "I don't know that it's true at all, it's a guess." However, the commentator was unimpressed as he hit back: "Oh come on, objectively the rest of the country are not thinking about dinghys.
While smirking, Danny interjected: "It's not a majority; it's a minority. " As Alex said: "Even at a push, I'd say it's 5%, if that."
After the ex-presenter disagreed and invited the commentator to the Midlands, he added: "So, you think more than 5% of the country are thinking about dinghys, specifically the dinghys. Give me a break."
