England booked their spot in the Euro 2025 final with a remarkable 2-1 victory over Italy on Tuesday evening. The Lionesses were just a matter of seconds away from being knocked out of the tournament before Michelle Agyemang came off of the bench to bag a 96th-minute equaliser to break the Italian hearts.
Barbara Bonansea had opened the scoring at the Stade de Geneve in the 36th minute after a cross found its way to the Juventus winger at the back post, and she made no mistake from close range. Agyemang then denied Andrea Soncin's side an impressive underdog story when smashing her strike low beneath Laura Giuliani, just a matter of moments after Hannah Hampton had produced a fine double-save.
The Lionesses were then awarded a late penalty after Beth Mead was brought down by Emma Severini, and Chloe Kelly was then on hand to turn the game on its head. The winger squeezed her strike past Giuliani in the dying embers of extra time after her initial penalty was saved to send the travelling England faithful into a frenzy.
