Coronation Street fans issue same complaint just minutes into wedding episode

After weeks of planning, Coronation Street's Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) finally got set to pledge their troth on August 6 in one of the most colourful weddings ever seen in Weatherfierld. However, it wasn't the bridal party's elaborate outfits that drew viewers' attention, but rather one of the guests' striking looks. Fans took to X to express their horror at what Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) decided to don for the event on the ITV soap.

The dementia-stricken hotel owner opted for a pink satin trouser suit with feathered trim at the wrists and ankles. She donned an elaborate black and pink headdress featuring roses to top it all off and accessorised with a sparkling silver clutch bag and large diamante earrings. Viewers were gobsmacked by the look and didn't hold back in their comments. "#Corrie, what the hell is Debbie wearing?" one asked. "Why is Debbie like a geisha girl #Corrie?" Another enquired.

A third chimed in: "Debbie usually looks so glamorous, but what on earth is she wearing...#Corrie," followed by a crying laughing emoji.

A fourth was equally unamused, writing: "Sorry, no, Debbie looks awful. The outfit, make-up, and headwear are horrible. The outfit looks like PJs. #Corrie."

However, the striking look proved a hit in some quarters, with a few people praising it. "Debbie looks ICONIC in her wedding outfit #Corrie," one wrote. Meanwhile, another fan simply observed: "Debbie looks a million dollars! So glamorous. #Corrie."

In another hilarious twist to the controversial outfit, at one point, eagle-eyed viewers spotted that she still had the price tags on the soles of her shoes.

Debbie stole the show at the wedding, as Bernie was delayed by an intruder in the home she shares with Dev. As the other guests looked on, Debbie treated them to a rendition of Olivia Newton-John's classic track Hopelessly Devoted to You.

She then decided it was the perfect moment to ask boyfriend Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) to marry her and got down on bended knee in front of the assembled guests,

She also leapt into action when Bernie suffered what she thought was a heart attack as she prepared to say her vows.

However, upon arriving at the hospital, Bernie discovered she actually had a reactiont= to her wedding bouquet, and as she and Dev married while she lay in her hospital bed, Debbie decamped to he pub to celebrate her engagement.

Coronation Street is on ITV1 and ITVX at 8pm on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.
