The handy tip was shared on TikTok by , a cleaning and lifestyle content creator boasting more than one million followers on the social media platform.

Most of her videos are centred around cleaning tips that are easy to follow and tackle a number of problems such as dust, bad odours and of course and .

She recently made a video compiling 10 of her most popular cleaning hacks of the year so far, and there's one very simple task that can help to stop condensation forming on your windows.

It's worth a shot for anyone concerned about the possibility of mould during the colder months, and even better, you only need two simple ingredients to carry it out.

According to the pro, all you need to keep condensation away from your windows for good is dish soap and peppermint oil.

Grab a clean cloth and pop on a squeeze of washing up liquid, which you can buy from Asda for as little as 55p from or 69p from .

Then, add a few drops of peppermint oil - you can pick this up from for £4.99.

All there's left to do is rub the cloth all over your windows, making sure to buff the mixture in well to make sure there's no residue left behind.

According to experts from , the dish soap creates a temporary barrier on the glass that prevents those irritating condensation droplets from forming.

However, a word of caution - you should keep the mixture well away from the window sealants, as the washing up liquid can end up damaging them.

And if your condensation problem is particularly big, it could be worth investing in a dehumidifier itself, as the window trick won't actually tackle the root of the problem.

These gadgets work to draw out moisture from the air and collect it in a container which you can empty out whenever it's full. These are also ideal if you dry your clothes inside, as this is another issue that can cause condensation and eventually mould.
