Pat Cummins Says Ahead of Border-Gavaskar Trophy: We're Here to Make Amends

Australian captain Pat Cummins is determined to turn the tables on India as he aims to reclaim the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the first time in over a decade. The five-match Test series between Australia and India is set to begin on November 22 in Perth.

India has dominated the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in recent years, holding onto it for nearly a decade and winning the last two series in Australia. As the series approaches, Cummins expressed excitement and a strong desire to make up for past losses.

"We’ve had a bit of a break, so I’m excited for the five-match Test series. We haven’t had a lot of luck against India in the past few series, but we always pride ourselves on playing well here in Australia," Cummins said. He acknowledged that the last series, which came down to a dramatic finish in the final session at the Gabba, was a tough defeat. "A lot of the guys who played then are still in the team, and we’re here to make amends," he added.

Cummins also discussed the challenge posed by India's young talents, including Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. "I’ve played a little against Shubman, but haven’t seen much of Jaiswal, except for some glimpses in the IPL. Both seem to be promising young players who have scored well across formats. We’ll take a closer look at them as the series gets closer," he said.

The series promises to be a highly anticipated contest, with both teams aiming to assert their dominance in Test cricket.
