HARYANA: BJP leader Nayab Singh Saini is set to take the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Haryana on October 15 in Panchkula. This announcement comes shortly after the BJP's strong performance in the recent Haryana assembly elections.

Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony are currently underway in Panchkula, according to a senior official. Although the date has not been officially confirmed, reports indicate that the BJP government is organizing the event for October 15. "We are preparing the venue for the event," said Dr. Yash Garg, the Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula.

A district-level committee is overseeing all arrangements for the ceremony. Nayab Singh Saini previously assumed the role of Haryana Chief Minister in March after the resignation of former CM Manohar Lal Khattar in advance of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Saini hails from the Other Backward Classes, and the BJP had indicated before the assembly polls that he would be chosen as Chief Minister if the party secured victory.

Before the oath-taking ceremony, the party is expected to evaluate various factors, including caste and regional dynamics, when forming the new cabinet.

Recently, Saini met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior BJP officials in Delhi. He also held discussions with Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who is in charge of the party's election efforts in Haryana.

There is anticipation that Prime Minister Modi and other senior party leaders will attend the swearing-in ceremony, although confirmation regarding Modi's availability has not yet been provided.

The BJP's victory in the Haryana assembly elections was notable, as the party secured 48 seats, significantly outperforming Congress, which won 37 seats. This result defied predictions of a comfortable Congress victory as indicated by exit polls. Meanwhile, the JJP and AAP faced significant losses, and the INLD was able to secure only two seats.
