During police interrogation, the women told the police that Ulasi Singh's husband, Balram Singh had been sick for the past several days. When his illness did not get cured, the elderly woman Bhavi Singh was accused of being a witch and possessed by ghosts, and was murdered.

After killing Bhavi Singh by cutting his neck, everyone fled

On Monday, the deceased Bhavi Singh was going to the Kuiyani Panchayat Bhawan through the jungle to withdraw the widow pension amount. On the way, the three men surrounded her in the jungle and killed her by slitting her throat. After this, they fled from there.
