Trent Alexander-Arnold discovers his £130k car is 'BANNED' from Real Madrid training ground

Trent Alexander-Arnold is effectively banned from driving his £130,000 Range Rover to ’s training ground. The 26-year-old right-back officially became a Los Blancos player on Sunday, signing a after leaving his boyhood club as a free agent.

His luxury SUV featured a 4.4 V8 twin-turbo engine that delivered 530 horsepower and a maximum torque of 750 Nm. His version of the model, which is no longer for sale, was priced by Land Rover at £130,000.

Combined with its eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system, it could propel its more than 2.5 tonnes from 0 to 100km/h in 2.6seconds and reach a top speed of 155mph.

But if the player had been hoping to bring the car over to Madrid or buy a similar model for everyday use in Spain, he would've been left bitterly disappointed. That's because Los Blancos’ sponsorship agreement with BMW prevents the players from being able to drive any other car brand to training, reports Spanish outlet .

Each year, the German car manufacturer provides the Real Madrid squad, as well as the women’s team and basketball team, with cars to use throughout the season. The agreement only includes plug-in hybrid and electric models, with the cars later sold off by BMW as pre-owned models.

Alexander-Arnold's potential disappointment is at least alleviated by the fact he will still be able to drive a high-performance SUV like the one he currently owns – for free. For instance, the sporty BMW XM has been one of the most popular choices within the club.

Both Kylian Mbappe and Alexander Arnold’s England team-mate have opted for that model, which has 653hp and costs around £152,000. Meanwhile, Vinícius Junior opted for the BMW i7 M70 xDrive, which costs slightly more at £157,000.

Alexander-Arnold has wasted no time in settling into his surroundings, having made his first public appearance as a Los Blancos player by attending the Spanish Grand Prix in . There, he met club legend Roberto Carlos, who he posed with for a photo.

The Liverpool academy graduate also showed his excitement towards his new chapter by replying to Real’s post celebrating new manager Alonso’s arrival. He wrote “El Jefe” – meaning ‘the boss’ – in Spanish.
