Spider season is in full swing and they appear to be more enormous than ever this year.
As summer transitions to autumn, it feels like barely an evening passes without some massive eight-legged creature appearing on a floor or wall in our lounges and bedrooms or, even worse, darting about in our clothing and beds.
That's why arachnophobic individuals are seeking out any hints and methods they can to attempt keeping spiders away during this period, particularly as regular spider encounters will probably persist until around November.

One suggestion which pest control specialists recommend involves cinnamon.
It emerges this wonder spice (no not that wonder spice) isn't merely a useful method to clean carpets or flavour bird food, but the antifungal and antibacterial seasoning can also ward off spiders. Is there nothing our modest orange powder cannot achieve?
According to Youngs Pest Control, cinnamon works best either as raw powder in dishes or blended into a watered-down mixture and sprayed around windows and doors.
Youngs states: "This spice is much more than just a cooking ingredient. Its strong scent can deter insects like ants and cockroaches. Sprinkle ground cinnamon in areas where you've seen pests, and watch them steer clear.", reports the Express.
"Purchase ground cinnamon or cinnamon sticks. For larger areas, place small bowls filled with cinnamon or use sachets. You create a spray by mixing one tablespoon of cinnamon powder with a cup of water, then misting around windows and doorways."
The trick isn't limited to cinnamon; in fact, there are a host of other potent oils and substances that spiders steer clear of, such as lavender, peppermint, garlic, and even vinegar.
Youngs Pest Control advises: "Essential oils like peppermint are natural insect repellents. Mix a few drops with water and spray around your home to create a refreshing scent while keeping pests at bay.
"Mix 10 to 15 drops of peppermint oil with water in a spray bottle. Shake well and spray along baseboards windows, and doors. Soak cotton balls in the mixture and place them in pest-prone areas."
