Love Island star's initial regret with fox eye surgery after years of 'insecurity'

Love Islandstar Patsy Field revealed she initially regretted undergoing fox eye surgery when she first woke up from the procedure and saw her reflection. The TV personality, who wanted to 'feel prettier in herself', jetted off to Turkey for the operation but was unable to look at herself in the mirror for days after it was done.

Her eyes were the size of 'two pink golf balls' and she thought to herself "I've messed up here" before the healing properly began. In a recent interview, Patsy revealed television and social media took its toll on her self-esteem as she said she wanted to 'feel prettier in herself' before adding the operation would 'change her face in a way'.

"I'm happy with it, but I think also coming off the show if you want to be an influencer or you want to give it a go you're constantly taking videos and pictures of yourself," she explanied.

"So I'm constantly looking at pictures and thinking all that could I look a bit old or I look a bit this and that's kind of what egged me on to do it."

Explaining the procedure was free, Patsy told The Sun: "I'm not sure if I would have gone ahead with it if it wasn't. But I have always, for years and years, had just an insecurity about my eyes."

The star admitted she wouldn't recommend the operation to her young fans. Patsy recently shared a progress video of the surgery on her social media page.

The clip started with Patsy, wearing sunglasses, covered in bandages as she hyped herself up to show off the results. She showcased the stitches in her hairline and removed her 'second set of bandages'.

"Fox eye surgery update @esteworld_gb This is only two weeks post op so it’s still settling and not the final look just yet but i’m already digging it!" she captioned the post.

Fans rushed to the comment section to compliment the star's new look, with one user posting: "Oh you look absolutely gorgeous!" and another adding: "Patsy you are the most beautiful girl inside and out and now you’ve got what you want, Foxy and you’re still gorgeous."

"Gorgeous girly as always," one said and another follower commented: "Oh my wow girl. no matter what you do, stunning."

Patsy rose to fame last year on Love Island but was dumped from the villa after two short weeks. She opened up about feeling lonely in the show, explaining: "It was really hard. When you have a crush on someone you get that excitement and I didn't have that. There was no spark with anyone that made it like, really exciting.

"I was just in there kind of like a spare part. It was like, 'Oh, OK, so now What should I do today? ' So it was difficult."
