Love Island2023 winners Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at High House near Chelmsford on Saturday, 2 August, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. In an exclusive chat, they discussed how they decided to invite just one celebrity guest to their wedding and how they were keen to prioritise an intimate and meaningful atmosphere.
The couple tied the knot just 15 months after announcing their engagement and declared their vows in front of 60 special guests. Discussing their guest list, Kai said: “We only had 60 guests. Looking around, we realised every single person there had a genuine, close relationship with us. That never happens in real life – everyone in the same room, at the same time”.
The only former islander in attendance on the day was Ron Hall, as Kai admits: “We just don’t have friends from the show like that. That’s just how life goes.” It comes after photos show Holly Willoughby letting her hair down in white swimsuit on sun soaked holiday.

Kai opened up on the special day and revealed that one of the most emotional moments for him was the speeches. He said: “You never realise how much people care until they stand up and say it out loud. It really hit me how much love was in that room”.
Sanam also shared her favourite moment, when she made her big entrance and walked down the aisle, which she described as the “best feeling ever”. Thinking back to the moment, she said: “I just thought, ‘Why was I crying all morning?’ It wasn’t even scary. It was the best feeling ever.”
While many former Love Islander’s didn’t receive an invite to the big day, they were quick to send their congratulatory messages in response to some sweet wedding snaps posted on the newlyweds' Instagram page.
Tasha Ghouri commented: “Congratulations so beautiful”, while Lucie Rose Donlan wrote: “Wow congratulations guys”.

Casey O'Gorman, who is known for featuring on Love Island three times, wrote: “Winners for a reason congrats guys”. Liam Reardon also added: “Massive congratulations both. Look amazing”.
Messages of congratulations were also sent by Wes Nelson, Zachariah Noble, Chyna Mills, Jessie Renée Wynter and Lana Jenkins.
Sanam, a social worker from Bedford, fell in love with schoolteacher Kai, when they met on the reality TV dating series. The pair shot to popularity during their time in the villa, after meeting during Casa Amor and remaining coupled until the end.
The couple went on to win the winter series of the ITV2 show in March 2023 and announced their engagement in April 2024, when Kai popped the question as the two enjoyed a romantic gondola ride in Cambridge.
Since leaving Love Island, the pair have managed to stay grounded, as Kai said: “It’s not about chasing fame. It’s about finding someone, and staying true to who you are.”
