Emmerdale air Charity and Vanessa update tonight amid affair theory

Emmerdaleis set to air a huge storyline with Charity Dingle and Vanessa Woodfield. Charity is embroiled in a huge new story as she prepares to be a surrogate for Sarah Sugden.

Her husband Mackenzie Boyd was less than impressed with her decision, given their own history. Meanwhile, Vanessa has also been through a tough time, having lost her partner Suzy in the limousine crash earlier this year.

For a while, Vanessa and Charity have rarely crossed paths due to their history and Vanessa's decision to move away – whilst actress Michelle Hardwick went on maternity leave – but could there be a spark brewing between the pair again?

Mack star Lawrence Robb had previously teased to The Mirror about a potential reunion for Vanessa and Charity, revealing: "I don’t think so, but like I’ve said before, never say never. Obviously they had great chemistry."

When asked about who Mack should be more worried about where Charity is concerned, Ross or Vanessa, he added to us: "I’m going to remain ambiguous! For either character there’s definitely grounds to be concerned from Mack’s point of view. It will probably come to fruition over the next year or two. There’ll be something. There always is."

Emma Atkins had also hinted at a potential reunion for fan favourite couple– nicknamed Vanity. She said: "When they do have scenes together, there's always that potential for an opening again, of reconnection. They get on so well as friends, there's always that spark.

"And you never know in soap, what they choose to do from one moment to the next, and it's always a joy to work with Michelle. So either way, it's gonna be a win-win, even if they just have a lovely friendship, because there is a friendship there to be had, and you never know." She was also asked if there was a chance for more scenes together.

"I just don't know at this moment in time what they'll do with the pair of them. But I can definitely see an opening happening already because there's been dialogue between them – but of what nature, I don't know," she added.

Michelle also teased the possibility.Asked whether Vanity had a future, She added: "Who knows, Vanessa is single, I have no idea what's going on. The rest is TBC."
