In a deeply personal video message, Brad Arnold, the frontman of 3 Doors Down, opened up about a devastating health diagnosis, announcing to fans that he is battling stage 4 kidney cancer.
The 45-year-old singer revealed that he has been diagnosed with clear cell renal carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of kidney cancer that has already spread to his lungs.
“Hi everybody, it’s Brad, from 3 Doors Down,” he begins, his voice steady but emotional. “I hope you’re having a great day today. Um, got some not so good news for you today.”

He went on to explain how recent illness led to a hospital visit - and an unexpected, life-changing discovery.
“(I was) sick a couple of weeks ago and then I went to the hospital and got checked out; actually got the diagnosis that I had a clear cell renal cell carcinoma, that had metastasized into my lungs,” he shared. “And that’s stage 4, and that’s not real good.”
Despite the severity of the diagnosis, Arnold expressed an unshakable sense of faith and calm. “But you know what, we serve a mighty God, and he can overcome anything,” he said. “So I have no fear; I really sincerely am not scared of it at all.”
With his condition now requiring urgent treatment, Arnold announced that 3 Doors Down’s summer tour has been called off. “But it is gonna force us to cancel our tour this summer and we’re sorry for that,” he said, offering his sincere apologies to fans.

The band’s official website has since been updated to reflect the news, stating simply: “no upcoming events.” They had been due to perform at multiple venues including Daytona International Speedway this month in Florida, the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion, New Jersey, in July, and a gig at the White River Amphitheatre, Washington, in August.
Arnold also issued a special plea as he said: "I'd love for you to lift me up in prayer any chance you get." He ended his brave message by saying his band's song It's Not My Time would serve as his own personal anthem.
"It's time for me to listen to 'It's Not My Time a little bit, right? Thank you guys so much. God loves you, we love you. See ya."
Arnold also wrote in a poignant caption: "Thank you for all the memories so far. Now, I believe 'ITS NOT MY TIME' is really my song.
"This’ll be a battle so we need our prayers warriors! Thank y’all for being the best fans in the world. We love y’all!"
Following his sad announcement, fans fo Brad's have shared their sympathy with the musician. "I'm sobbing. I'm so sorry. Life is so unfair," one wrote. Another echoed: "So so so so so sad to hear this. You are so strong my man. You got this."
"It's an awful we live in when bad things happen to good people. Sending you so much love Brad," another added.
