Wayanad (Kerala) | A court here on Thursday sent Maoist leader Soman to police custody for three days for questioning in connection with multiple cases.
The custody was granted till July 19 based on a petition submitted by the police to the Sessions Court in Kalpetta.
Police sought custody to question him in connection with around 10 cases registered under the jurisdictions of the Meppadi, Vythiri, and Padinjarathara police stations.
Soman was brought to the Kalpetta court from the high-security wing of Viyyur Central Jail early this morning.
He was arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in July 2024 from the Shoranur railway station area.
Soman was reportedly the commander of the Wayanad Nadukani Maoist group
