The government provides rations to such people at a low rate.

A free ration scheme is run for them. These people get this facility in all the states of the country. A ration card is issued for this. Other schemes of the government can also be availed on the ration card. Recently, the northeastern state of Tripura announced a gift for the ration card holders of its state on the occasion of Navratri. This Navratri, these two things will be given free to all ration card holders.

Tripura government will give gifts to ration card holders.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has made a big announcement for the ration card holders of his state. On the occasion of Navratri, he has announced to give 2 kg flour and 1 kg sugar to all the ration card holders of the state as a gift. Along with this, before the Durga Puja festival, the government will also give 500 grams of semolina free to all ration card holders. The Food Department official said that earlier these things were given to ration card holders at a subsidized rate. But this time it will be given free.

Regarding this decision of the Tripura government, the Minister of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs of the Government, Sushant Choudhary, has said in his statement that 'Every year we provide these items at subsidized rates through the Public Distribution System (PDS), but not for free. This time, however, the government has taken this special decision because people have suffered due to floods.' Along with this, while talking further about this, he said that 'About 3000 metric tonnes of sugar has already arrived in the state and more is going to come. Ration shops have started distributing sugar.'

Old ration cards will be changed to PVC.

Along with this, Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister Sushant Choudhary said that all the old ration cards present in the state will soon be converted to PVC i.e. smart cards. Soon new cards will be issued to everyone.
