Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) acting captain and wicketkeeper batsman Jitesh Sharma rocked the IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday (May 27) with his stormy batting.

Jitesh, who came out to bat at number 6 for RCB to chase the target, played an innings of 85 runs in 33 balls at a strike rate of 257.58, in which he hit 8 fours and 6 sixes. This is the first half-century of his IPL career.

In this match, RCB defeated Lucknow by 6 wickets. After being invited to bat first, the Lucknow team scored a huge score of 227 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. In which captain Rishabh Pant scored a century while batting brilliantly and played an unbeaten innings of 118 runs in 61 balls, hitting 11 fours and 8 sixes. At the same time, opening batsman Mitchell Marsh scored 67 runs in 37 balls.

In response, RCB easily won by losing 4 wickets in 18.4. In which apart from Jitesh, Virat Kohli scored 54 runs in 30 balls.

Broke Dhoni's record

Jitesh holds the record for playing the biggest innings while batting at number 6 or below in a successful run chase in IPL. He surpassed Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Andre Russell and Kieron Pollard, who played innings of 70-70 runs.

Jitesh played the second biggest innings while batting at number 6 in IPL history. In this list, he surpassed Dhoni, who played an unbeaten innings of 84 against RCB in 2019.

Biggest innings after 11 overs

Jitesh has made the record of the biggest innings after coming to bat after the 11th over in IPL. Earlier, Rashid Khan was at the top of this list, who scored an unbeaten 79 against Mumbai Indians in 2023.
