Giving information about traffic challans, Delhi Government's Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot said that for the convenience of Delhiites and to promote traffic congestion, the Delhi Government has decided to reduce the amount of challan by 50% under specific sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. That is, now if someone's challan has been issued in Delhi. Then he will not have to pay the full amount of the challan. Rather, he will have to pay half of it. However, a time limit has been set for this.

These people will get an exemption.

Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot tweeted about this on his social media platform X and said that this benefit will be available in cases of payment of challan amount within 90 days of challan, or in case of payment within 30 days for challans issued after the notification of this rule. That is, those who have been challenged before this. They will not be able to get the benefit of this facility.

Proposal sent to the Lieutenant Governor

The Delhi Government has decided to reduce the traffic challan by half. However, this decision has not been implemented yet. This will be implemented only when the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi gives his approval to it. The Delhi government has sent this proposal for the approval of the Lieutenant Governor. As soon as the approval is received from the Lieutenant Governor, people in Delhi will start getting the facility of half challan.
