Australian star all-rounder Cameron Green, who had decided to skip the IPL 2025 due to an injury, has made a remarkable return to competitive cricket. This year, Green did not even register for the IPL mega auction. After undergoing back surgery in October, Green's return to the field was highly awaited, and he made his comeback in style, scoring a brilliant century in his first match back.

Century on Debut for Gloucestershire After Recovery

Green played for Gloucestershire in the English county cricket competition. In his first match after recovery, he scored a fantastic century, taking 171 balls to reach the milestone. However, shortly after completing his century, Green had to leave the field due to cramps. Despite this, he reassured his fans that after some rest and food, he would be ready to continue his innings on the second day.

Notably, Green became only the 10th player to score a century on debut in first-class cricket for Gloucestershire. When he came in to bat, his team had already lost 3 wickets for 41 runs, and Green played a crucial role in stabilizing the innings and contributing valuable runs.

Looking Ahead: Green’s Focus on World Test Championship

Green is set to remain with Gloucestershire until the end of May, where he will play five more four-day red-ball matches. His primary goal is to regain match fitness in time for the World Test Championship final at Lord's in June, where he hopes to represent Australia.

IPL 2025: RCB Traded Green, but Injury Kept Him Out

Green was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team in IPL 2024 but was not retained for the current season due to his injury concerns. Before the 2024 IPL auction, Green was traded from Mumbai Indians to RCB for a significant amount of Rs 17.5 crore.
