Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) national secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Wednesday alleged that SIR is actually ‘Silent Invisible Rigging’ that is being carried out by Election Commission at the ‘behest’ of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“The ECI has started this in favour of the BJP. They will try to desperately attempt the same in Bengal. But this will only increase the trust and love people have for Trinamool Congress. They don't want to face people. None of their leaders have the courage to address the press. But the people will exercise their right to vote. If needed, we will organise a mass movement here in Delhi. We will hit the ground taking along the people,” said Banerjee.

The TMC national secretary further mentioned, “If the BJP tries to snatch away the rights of a single person through SIR, we will not allow that. This is the difference between Bihar and Bengal. This is the difference between us and any other State. You dare attempt it (SIR) here and see the reaction!”
'Mamata Banerjee Misled Public With Fake Video, Should Be Booked Under BNS': BJP Leader Suvendu AdhikariBanerjee also added that SIR is a ‘backdoor entry’ of the controversial National Register of Citizens (NRC).
Hitting out at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the TMC MP said, “Amit Shah is the biggest failure as a Home Minister because under his tenure incidents like Pahalgam and Pulwama took place.”
