Mumbai: A 46-year-old man was murdered in Bandra West on Thursday evening following a dispute over property ownership. The victim, Shakir Ali Sheikh, was stabbed to death by four individuals using sharp weapons. The Bandra police have registered a case against Imran Nasir Khan, Usman Ali Zakir Ali Sheikh, Zakir Ali Sheikh, and Fatima alias Kayanat Imran Khan for alleged murder.
According to the police, the accused entered the residence of the victim, Shakir Ali Cendole, and attacked him along with his family members. Shakir succumbed to his injuries, while his sister-in-law Shirin and nephew Afzal sustained serious injuries. The incident took place in Dargah Gully around 9 PM on April 10. The accused are reported to be residents of the same locality, living near Shakir’s home.
Dixit Gedam, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 9, stated, “The primary cause of the incident is a property dispute between the parties. The accused do not have any previous NDPS (narcotics-related) cases or criminal background.”
A case has been registered against the four accused at the Bandra police station under sections 103(1), 109, 118(1), 115, 49, 352, 351(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with sections 4 and 25 of the Arms Act.
