MP Weather April 12 Update: Temperature Dips In Some Districts As Rain Brings Temporary Relief; Drizzle In Indore, Sagar & More

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): After days of intense heatwave, parts of Madhya Pradesh finally got a break as rain showers brought relief across the state. Rain alert has been issued in more than 20 districts of the state.

In last 24 hours Rahli in Sagar district witnessed the maximum rainfall, recording 16.3 mm.

The day in bhopal began with light clouds, but the sun kept peeking through. Temperature ranged around 39.6°C at day and 23°C at night.

Rainfall in these districts

Meteorological department stated that in the last 24 hours, rain accompanied by thunderstorms occurred in some districts of the state.

9 districts of the eastern and western parts of the state witnessed thunderstorm. 0.7 mm rainfall was recorded in Ashoknagar district of western Madhya Pradesh, while 16.3 mm rainfall occurred in Sagar of eastern Madhya Pradesh.

Apart from this, 6.8 mm rainfall occurred in Mawai of Mandla, 4.2 in Pushparajgarh of Anuppur, 3.8 in Bijauli, 4 in Jaitpur of Shahdol, 2 in Barasivani of Balaghat, 1 mm in Naugaon of Chhatarpur.

Alert for rain and thunderstorms

Meteorological Department, issued an orange alert for rain accompanied by thunderstorms in Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Pandhurna, Guna, Ashoknagar and Shivpuri on Saturday.

On the other hand, a yellow alert has been issued for rain and thundershowers in Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopurkalan, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur and Maihar.

Highest temperature in Khandwa

Despite the rain, the scorching heat hasn't gone away entirely. Khandwa remained the hottest with a scorching 42.5°C, followed by Khajuraho and Khargone . Where as, Panchmarhi recorded the state's lowest temperature of 18°C followed by Naugaon at 19.1°C.

Jabalpur remained the hottest among major cities

Among the major cities Jabalpur recorded the highest maximum temperature on Friday. The mercury was recorded at 40.8°C. Followed by Gwalior at 39.7 °C, Indore and Bhopal recorded 39.6°C and Ujjain recorded 39.2°C.

Weather for next two days

13th April: Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Pandhurna, Guna, Ashoknagar and Shivpuri can witness light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms

14th April: The sky will start clearing up with scattered clouds, making the daytime temperature range around 39°C-41°C
