Sailana (Madhya Pradesh): Sailana MLA Kamleshwar Dodiyar alleged corruption in construction of irrigation pond by RES.
Raising the issue in the assembly on Wednesday, he revealed that in some places, ponds were not only on paper and in other areas, they had washed away after the first bout of monsoon rains.
Dodiyar alleged there was widespread corruption and irregularities in irrigation ponds built in his constituency. The government stated that 240 ponds were constructed from 2018 to 2025, while 139 ponds are still under construction.
MLA Dodiyar alleged that substandard materials were used in pond construction, making the schemes exist only on paper. This has prevented area farmers from getting any benefits.
He mentioned a pond built for ₹87.43 lakh at Fefaria Nala of Gram Panchayat Umar. The height of the embankment was shorter than required, and murram soil was used instead of black soil, making the pond likely to burst at any time.

In Gram Panchayat Singat, a pond built on Baheda drain in 2023-24 for ₹14.36 lakh washed away in the first rains due to using murram soil and big stones instead of black soil.
Dodiyar alleged that government officers, sarpanchs, secretaries and assistant secretaries were all involved in this corruption.
