Aashirvaad, a cultural program held at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, marked the birth anniversary of renowned Kathak exponent Late Guru Archana Joglekar. Organized as a heartfelt tribute by her disciple Darshana Khamkar, the evening celebrated the rich heritage of Kathak dance.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the intricate 21 Matra Ganesh Taal, performed by Darshana Khamkar alongside Dr. Manisha Yadav, both acclaimed Kathak Nrityalankars. The soulful rhythm was elevated by the musical accompaniment of Pandit Kalinath Mishra, eminent tabla maestro and harmonium by Mr. Vaibhav Mankad.
The program also featured a graceful Kathak performance on a ghazal by Ms. Rehana Patel Rane, adding variety and depth to the repertoire. Many students performed various dance forms to mark the event.
Attended by over 60 art enthusiasts, Aashirvaad was a resounding success, blending tradition with heartfelt homage to one of Kathak’s finest exponents.
