Pitru Paksha holds special significance in Hinduism. In a few days, as soon as Pitru Paksha ends, Sharadiya Navratri will begin. During Navratri, nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped. It is believed that these nine days and nights are completely dedicated to the Goddess of the Universe, Maa Durga. Fasting is also observed during these nine days. The Kalash is installed on the first day of Navratri. However, according to Ujjain's Acharya Anand Bhardwaj, for auspicious results, if any item of Goddess Durga's love is brought into the home before the Kalash installation, Goddess Durga is pleased and bestows her blessings.

When does Navratri begin?
According to the Vedic calendar, Sharadiya Navratri begins on the Pratipada date of the month of Ashwin and ends on the Navami date. This year, Sharadiya Navratri will begin on September 22nd. The Kalash installation will be done on September 22nd. Then, Maha Ashtami will be celebrated on September 30, Maha Navami on October 1, and Dussehra on October 2. The immersion of Goddess Durga idols will take place on October 2.
