The snake god is the beauty of Lord Shiva's neck. On this day, by offering milk on the Shivling and performing Rudrabhishek, one gets the special blessings of Lord Shiva.
By worshiping Lord Shiva methodically, wishes are fulfilled, and stability comes in life.
On this day, it is especially fruitful to include a pair of Naag-Nagin made of silver in the worship.
By offering milk, fruits, flowers, and sweets to the Nag Dev with devotion, obstacles in life are removed, and fear ends.

What not to do on Nag Panchami

Green leafy vegetables (saag) should not be cooked on this day, especially by cutting them. Doing so is considered inauspicious.

Do not put an iron pan or tawa on fire, as it is considered forbidden.

Digging the ground on Nag Panchami is forbidden, as it can harm the snakes' burrows.

Do not use sharp objects like needles, nails, etc. By doing so, the snake deity, especially Sheshnag, can get angry.

One should avoid offering milk from a copper vessel on Shivling or Nag deity, it is considered inauspicious.
