VP Kamala Harris hits back: New TV ad mocks Donald Trump for avoiding the debate stage

Vice President Kamala Harris has released a new TV ad, urging former President Donald Trump to participate in another debate. The 30-second ad criticizes Trump for avoiding a second debate after their initial one in September.

According to the Independent, the advertisement aired as Trump attended a college football game between Alabama and Georgia.

The ad opens with the message, “Winners never back down from a challenge. Champions know it’s anytime, anyplace. But losers, they whine and waffle and take their ball home.” It includes footage of Trump missing a golf putt, followed by Harris on stage challenging Trump directly. Harris says, “Well, Donald, I do hope you’ll reconsider to meet me on the debate stage. If you’ve got something to say, say it to my face.”

Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung responded, “Kamala Harris would never show up to a sporting event like this [Alabama-Georgia] because she’d get booed out of the stadium and embarrass herself.”

Harris' campaign had planned to fly a plane over Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, where Trump was attending the game. The plane was supposed to carry a banner reading “Trump’s Punting on 2nd Debate,” but weather conditions prevented this.

Despite claiming victory in their September debate, Trump has avoided committing to another debate with Harris. Harris continues to press for a rematch, emphasizing the importance of voter engagement on key issues. At a recent Charlotte, North Carolina, campaign event, she said, “I believe we owe it to the voters to have another debate because this election and what is at stake could not be more important.”

When asked about a second debate, Harris stated, “Join me on the debate stage. Let’s have another debate. There’s more to talk about, and the voters of America deserve to hear the conversations that I think we should be having on substance, on issues, on policies.”
