In a strong statement, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha emphasized that no individual involved in the alleged harassment case of Bollywood actress and model Kadambari Jethwani will be spared. The state government is fully committed to ensuring that justice is served for all victims of harassment and misconduct, the minister said, reiterating that swift and decisive action has already been taken in this case, including the suspension of three high-ranking IPS police officials.

"Action against the three IPS officers has been taken after due probe into the charges against them," the minister said as cited by various news reports.

Kadambari Jethwani case
The case gained national attention after the Andhra Pradesh government suspended three senior IPS officers—P Sitharama Anjaneyulu, Kranti Rana Tata, and Vishal Gunni—for their involvement in the improper arrest and alleged harassment of Jethwani. These officials were accused of arresting the Mumbai-based model and actress without proper investigation and under suspicious circumstances during the previous administration. According to reports, the arrest was made based on a complaint filed by a YSR Congress leader, accusing Jethwani of cheating.

The state government conducted an internal inquiry, which confirmed the misconduct of the officers involved. It was found that Anjaneyulu, the former intelligence chief, had instructed his subordinates to arrest Jethwani even before a formal First Information Report (FIR) was registered against her. The FIR was officially filed on February 2, but instructions for her arrest were issued on January 31, suggesting a premeditated attempt to detain her without following due process. This misconduct prompted the government to suspend the three officers and initiate disciplinary proceedings against them.

In addition to the involvement of law enforcement, Jethwani has alleged that political influence played a significant role in her unlawful arrest. She claims that her arrest was orchestrated to pressure her into withdrawing a previous complaint she had filed against a top executive of a Mumbai-based corporate firm. According to Jethwani, during her detention, she was threatened with dire consequences if she did not comply with these demands. Jethwani’s arrest and subsequent 42-day detention have raised serious concerns about the misuse of power. She was released on bail after over a month in custody, and since then, she has been vocal about the injustice she faced.

Speaking to NDTV, the actress said a false case was foisted on her to threaten her to withdraw a complaint she lodged against a top corporate honcho in Mumbai and that she was kept in prison in AP for 42 days before being released on bail.
" I believe there is a lot of political manipulation, money and power involved ( in the arrest). Without that level of money and power involved, this level of orchestration I would say would not have happened...I do believe that a higher level of political influence and money and power are involved," Kadambari Jethwani said.
