IPL 2025: Maxwell Faces Heat from Fans After Another Flop Show

Glenn Maxwell's massive comeback to Punjab Kings for INR 4.20 crore at IPL 2025 auction was intended to return T20 magic into his game. Instead, it's been an uphill task. Maxwell again fared poorly, scoring a meager 7 runs off 10 balls versus Kolkata Knight Riders. Fans had no qualms, inundating social media with memes and jokes as frustration with his form increases.

 

It has been a forgetful season for Maxwell till now. In 7 games (6 innings), he has scored a mere 48 runs, his top score being 30 and average just 8.00. His strike rate, which was once his greatest strength, has come down to 97.95. He has yet to score a fifty or a hundred. With just 5 boundaries and 1 six in his account, Maxwell's string of poor form has disappointed Punjab fans and left critics lambasting him.

KKR vs PBKS was played as a game and ended as a rain abandoned affair, in which PBKS, batting first, scored an enormity of 201/4 and KKR in reply scored 7/0 of the first over when the game got abandoned.

The fans of cricket were left dismayed as the rain washed out the KKR vs PBKS match. Punjab Kings had set up a formidable score, and both openers scoring fifties. However, KKR mounted a comeback thanks to some sharp bowling from Vaibhav Arora and Andre Russell. Conversely, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy did not have the best outing as they gave away nearly nine runs an over.

 

KKR had only just started their pursuit but rain interrupted the match after a single over. Ultimately, the game was abandoned without a result the inaugural washed-out game of . Both sides earned a point each, something which may ultimately prove crucial for PBKS in making the playoffs.
