Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 27 (ANI): Ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-poll, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has said that people are very distressed as the Congress and the main opposition party Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) have not fulfilled any promise.
Speaking to ANI after PM Modi's 127th edition of Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, he asserted that a double-engine government would have to come to power in Telangana.
G Kishan Reddy said, "Today, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Mann Ki Baat program has been heard by crores of people all over the country. Today, similarly in Hyderabad, in the Jubilee area, I will also go among the local people and talk to them. PM Modi is the only one who has been continuously organising this program. The BRS Party has ruled for 10 years, but in Jubilee, there is no road, the drainage system is not good, sanitation is not good, no street light is working, roads are not good. People are very distressed in Jubilee Hills."
"Today, the BRS Party has no right to ask for a vote. During their time, land grabbing, rowdyism, and corruption were rampant. Similarly, it has been two years since the Congress Party came into power. They have not fulfilled any promise. They said they will give Rs 2500 to women but did not give. For the unemployed, they said they would give Rs 4000 per month, but did not give. For SC and backward classes also they have not given anything. I request to the people of Telangana and the Jubilee that such parties will have to learn a lesson. A double-engine government will have to come to Telangana," he further said.
He further alleged that Congress has put the All India Majis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party candidate forward for the polls and backstabbed the people.
Polling for the Jubilee Hills bye-election will take place on November 11, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 14. The election process is expected to conclude by November 16.
Several ministers and Chief Ministers across the country tuned in to listen to the 127th address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, along with Congress leaders, participated in a door-to-door campaign in Yousafguda in Jubilee Hills constituency on Sunday, urging voters to support Congress candidate Naveen Yadav in the bypolls.
Prabhakar expressed confidence in his party's victory in the upcoming bye-election, highlighting the government's welfare measures, including ration cards, free electricity for 200 units, and free bus travel for women.
He also responded to BRS working president KT Rama Rao's remark, and said, "A Car should not come under a bulldozer to get crushed..."
Speaking to ANI, Ponnam Prabhakar said, "Those who comment on our candidate are blessings for him. There was no development here for a decade... Our government is giving ration cards, free 200 units of electricity and free bus travel for women... Congress will win in this by-election..." (ANI)
