It's Sunday, and both the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are set to face off in a crucial mid-table clash. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians are currently in good form and will look to extend their winning streak as they take on LSG in April. Well, Trent Boult, the pace spearhead of MI, has 'no doubt' that they will breach the 300-plus score in the ongoing 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
As per records, out of 45 matches played in the high-profile league, teams have scored over 200 runs 23 times. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) held the record for the highest total by showing their explosive performance and aggressive approach against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Sunrisers Hyderabad has reached the top of the list on the board with 286/6, which is the closest a team has been to the elusive 300-plus in total.

Trent Boult believes MI will breach the 300-plus mark
MI pacer, Boult, thinks that they will shatter this record for the first time in the history of IPL. While the scoreline might suggest a disastrous day for the bowlers, Boult chooses to focus on the positives from a bowler's point of view.
Sharing on the same, Boult, while speaking on JioHotstar's special series, said, "No doubt, a 300-plus score will be reached this tournament. The ball seems to be travelling further, though I'd like to believe it's still swinging in some parts of the country."

From a bowling point of view, it creates opportunities when the batsmen are coming hard, which is a positive thing, as per Boult. He went on to say that if the team focuses on being accurate and aggressive, then it can give it a real crack; the bowlers will have their day at some point.
"That's what fans want to see, and I'm sure there'll be plenty watching," he added.
Trent Boult's current formThe New Zealand left-armer has never claimed more than nine wickets at the death in a single IPL season, but he's already picked up six in the ongoing league.
Boult has also highlighted the personal side of his game, particularly with his stellar performance in the death overs.Â
