Send Push

A woman was left absolutely mortified after her elderly neighbour discovered something a tad personal she'd accidentally left behind following a good deed.

The anonymous woman explained how she lends a hand to her older neighbour with his cleaning, but was overcome with embarrassment when he inquired about an item she'd inadvertently left. The encounter's amusing innocence would draw laughter from even the stoniest of faces.

In her rush the last time she tidied up his place, she didn't notice dropping a tampon applicator. The comical gaffe was aired on the hit podcast LuAnna, with hosts Anna Williamson and Luisa Zissman regularly spilling the beans on riotous tales. In a burst of giggles, Anna relayed the anecdote to their audience.

She revealed just what made it so funny: "I help elderly neighbours with their cleaning and when I came to see them this week, the elderly gentleman said 'You left something here last week but I'm not sure where it's from'," as she delivered the punchline during the broadcast that got shared on social media.

She then spilled the beans, saying: "Going into the kitchen, I expected to find a cloth or a duster, but instead he handed me the plastic applicator from my tampon," leading to Luisa's exclamation: "Oh god."

And as the tale unwound, Anna shared how the unknowing gentleman presented the tampon while Luisa remarked on his harmless ignorance: "The poor innocent old man." A woman was left red-faced after a tampon applicator fell out of her rubbish bag in a rush, only to be found by her father-in-law who couldn't figure out what it was.

She recounted the cringeworthy moment: "I quickly thanked him and tried to take it off him when he said 'I couldn't work it out. What's it from?" In a bid to save face, she fibbed, telling him it was part of her kid's toys and had slipped out of her pocket.

"He didn't look too convinced but luckily he didn't press me any further," she admitted, before adding with embarrassment: "I can't believe he kept it on the kitchen side for a week. Mortified." The story tickled readers, prompting one to comment: "Bless the old fella, he had no idea."
