A killer who was convicted of a teenage girl over a pair of Yeezy shoes had an outburst in and was seen lunging at the grieving family of the victim.

On Friday, 23-year-old Adrian Cosby was found guilty felony murder, attempted murder and attempted robbery in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Andrea Camps Lacayo in 2020. He is expected to be sentenced to life in prison.

The victim's family addressed the killer in court, with the teen's father, Alex Camps, describing Cosby as "the epitome of evil and darkness that this represents." He added: "There's only one place animals like you belong, and that's in prison for the rest of your life."

He added: "This court today confirmed once again that truth that we all seek – the truth that you are a fool, a liar, and a monster for what you did not only to Andrea but our whole entire family and friends." At that point, Cosby suddenly jumped from his chair, cursing and trying to lunge at the family before officers intervened and dragged him away from the courtroom, reported.

The victim was tragically killed on April 7, 2020, when she and her boyfriend, Sergio Berben, set up an exchange with 19-year-old George Walton. The couple were hoping to sell the popular sneakers, launched by rapper in partnership with Adidas, for $935 (£721) to get some money during the Covid-19 pandemic.

They arranged to meet in front of an abandoned house in Homestead, a city within Miami-Dade County in Florida. According to officers, Walton confessed that his plan was to steal the shoes while trying them on - however, Cosby sneaked up on Andrea and her boyfriend while they were sitting in a car, shooting at them.

The girl was hit in the torso, with the bullet grazing her boyfriend's arm. Cosby's trial, which began on Tuesday, came eight months after Walton was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for murder. Andrea's girlfriend floored the Jeep and raced outside the complex, where he called 911, according to the

His girl then lost consciousness as he was holding her towel to her bullet wound, as instructed by the 911 operator. She later passed away. During closing arguments on Friday, defence attorney Dustin Tischler told jurors there was not enough physical and forensic evidence to identify Cosby at the shooter.

He said: "This was an unspeakable tragedy. Andrea was a beautiful, beautiful girl and had her whole life ahead of her. But he [Berben] made a mistake in that brief one or two seconds that the firearm was produced and fired. He said it was Cosby."

However, Miami-Dade Assistant State Attorney Sara Imm said she found it unbelievable that the defense would expect jurors to believe that Cosby, who had been with Walton earlier and was with him also after the shooting, had accidentally showed up at the scene of the shooting. During the trial, Andrea's camps put an arm about his daughter's boyfriend, reassuring him: "We want you to know that nothing that happened that day is your fault."
