Tottenham won 1-0 at Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League quarter-final second leg on Thursday night and here are our Spurs player ratings as they advanced to the semi-finals.
The Spurs boss was without his captain due to a foot injury for the huge game in Germany and replaced him with Mathys Tel on the left, who has experience of playing Frankfurt with Bayern Munich, with Brennan Johnson on the other side of Dominic Solanke. Centre-back Kevin Danso returned to training after more than a month out with a hamstring injury and was on the bench.
A cagey first half came to a dramatic conclusion when James Maddison tried to head a Cristian Romero chipped pass over Frankfurt goalkeeper Kaua Santos only for the stopper to wipe him out. Solanke stroked home the subsequently given penalty calmly before Maddison had to eventually go off following the collision.
Spurs were the better side for much of the second half and showed a real maturity to their performance to see out the game and take their place in the semi-finals of the competition.
Here are our Tottenham player ratings:
Guglielmo Vicario
Had a few comfortable saves to make early in the game but made a good reaction one with 15 minutes to go. Led from the back well throughout. 7
Pedro Porro
A strong performance down the right with plenty on his hands on the night. 8
Cristian Romero
Defended well in the first half with a couple of important interceptions and played the ball over the top to Maddison that led to the penalty. Headed just wide from a corner on the hour mark. Ended the game with a bang to his head and a booking soon after but this was one of his best displays of the season. 9
Micky van de Ven
Called into action 15 minutes to stop Ekitike at the last moment as the striker ran through on goal. Looked back to his best for the most part with those lung-busting runs back and across. 8
Destiny Udogie
Brought back in by Postecoglou and fully showed why. He was excellent in his defensive work and led the charges up the pitch with his energy. 9
Lucas Bergvall
You have to remind yourself that he's only 19. Nothing about the occasion got to him and he showed a maturity beyond his years with his passing and battling. 8
Rodrigo Bentancur
A really industrious performance in the middle of the pitch. Very little got past him. 8
James Maddison
Had a tidy if not spectacular first half before making the run that led to the penalty and him exiting the game just before the break. 6
Brennan Johnson
Found Tel in the box for a chance 20 minutes in and set up Kulusevski for a chance in the second half. Worked hard down the right at both ends of the pitch. 6
Dominic Solanke
Worked hard up front in the first half with little reward until he stroked home the penalty with great calm inside the noisy stadium. Absolutely gave everything in the second half to try to keep Spurs up the pitch or get the ball off Frankfurt's defence. They never had a moment of quiet with him. 8
Mathys Tel
Scuffed a chance wide inside the Frankfurt box 20 minutes in. Forced Santos into a save 25 minutes in with a powerful effort from outside the box. The teenager showed his experience of playing against the German side with a busy performance down the left. 7
Subs
Dejan Kulusevski
Came on for Maddison just before the break. Played in front of Bergvall and Bentancur and had a shot saved before the hour. Had more efforts as the game wore on and looked like his old self. Constantly marauding up the pitch as a real threat. 8
Pape Matar Sarr
Came on for the final 15 minutes or so and did his part. 6
Kevin Danso
Replaced Johnson for the final minutes and helped Spurs keep the clean sheet. N/A
